    We decided after Tarragona yesterday that we were going to try to explore a few other small towns that no one has ever heard of.  We chose Sitges after one of our program leaders recommended it, mentioning that its beach is very well known and popular.  We slept in and wandered to the metro around noon.  We got off the metro and walked down the hill to the train station.  We took a 45 minute train ride to a small town called Sitges.   Sitges Train Station     Sitges is south of Barcelona, on the Mediterranean.  It is most well known for its music and film festivals.  It is more quaint than Tarragona, but does not have the ruins.  Sitges maintains its old-fashioned feeling, only allowing hotels and other touristy attractions near the beach.  Each town or city we visit it so different and individual in personality, yet they all share and embody a strong Spanish, historic aura.       W...

Park Güell

     We went to Park Güell today, which is a garden complex with architectural elements designed by Antoni Gaudí.  If you don't know who Gaudí is, I suggest you look him up; he's kind of a big deal around these parts.  The park was originally part of an unsuccessful housing site, the idea of Count Eusebi Güell, for whom the park was named after.        We apparently went the back way and did not take the entrance designed for regular tourists.  That climb is not for the faint of heart; you take two escalators which is nice, but then you climb up a 45° angle hill to get to the park.  And you're not even at the top yet. Ovarian Cyst Update

I'm back! Both ovaries are intact, if that's why you're reading this post. My life is still complicated, my health even more so. For now, however, surgery is off the table. This "urgent" situation I suddenly found myself in regarding a "potentially dangerous" ovarian cyst is nonexistent. It is a typical ovarian cyst, called a dermoid cyst because it contains skin, tissue and some even hold teeth!  Mine is currently 2.5 cm but the obgyn said that she refuses to do surgery until it isn't least 5 because it is much harder to separate the mass from the ovary when the cyst is small. My doc also pointed out that while removing the entire ovary is an option, it's not the best one in case something happens to my only remaining ovary and I end up forced to go through menopause before age 30. These were all valid points and so I am stuck in The Waiting Game... again. At this point in my life, I get ultrasounds every 6 months for the cyst on my kidney...
