Day 2: Bath

       Convincing a group of college students that "waking up early is fun!" is near impossible - especially when said students are jet-lagged and are without coffee in a foreign country.  We piled on our newly-acquired coach bus and made our way from London to the picturesque town of Bath.         We passed beautiful countryside, with these gorgeous fields of golden flowers that seemingly stretched on for miles: Follow the yellow brick road?       Upon our arrival in Bath, we dropped off our luggage for our not-ready-yet rooms and headed into town for some lunch.  We passed this cafe and I thought it was only fitting that I take a picture to document the irony:      We had a delicious lunch at this wonderful place, seated outside in the beautiful sunshine as we people-watched and sipped elderflower water for the first time:       Bath itself is absolutely breath-...

Mini Adventure: Birthday Wishes

My 21st birthday was a bust.  I don't remember what I did for my 22nd and 23rd birthdays but it couldn't have been exciting since I don't remember it.  This coming Wednesday I will turn 24.  I have a boyfriend, which is weird to talk about.  And it meant added pressure of planning a weekend adventure for us to celebrate my birthday.  I finally settled on Roger Williams Park Zoo in Providence Rhode Island, which is about an hour from my house.  I wanted to see Finding Dory as well so I chose dinner and a movie at Patriot Place in Foxboro, home of my favorite team - the New England Patriots! Because I'm an absolute madwoman, I wanted to be at the zoo pretty much as soon as it opened.  I woke up super early, got my hair cut first thing, and anxiously waited for Bobby to pick me up. Funny Story - Las Ramblas Again

     Part of Spanish culture is that people kiss on either cheek when they meet and prefer a lack of personal space when conversing.  I forgot about that when my friend's date said hello to me when I dropped her off earlier.  I introduced myself and smiled, thinking American-ly that that in itself was an acceptable greeting, but when he moved toward me, I thought he was going to shake my hand.  So I moved toward him and he kissed me on the cheek.  OH.  I thought it was over, but apparently I forgot about the other cheek so when he kissed me again, it was almost an after thought for me.  My friend made a joke that we haven't quite gotten the hang of the whole "besos" thing.  Thank you so very much for pointing out my sheer awkwardness.      I realized as my friend went skipping off with her date that I had gotten separated from the rest of the group.  They had been walking slower than us and the girl in question was...
